Driver Class: 3A

The mini has always been special for me having built several over the years then in 2014 having built another mini a pal encouraged me to have a go at Hillclimbing and warned it can become addictive – he was right in that respect we have had such a great time since that first event which was also the first time I had ever driven on a race track.

The mini (known as `Florence’) has changed somewhat over the seasons all done in my garage during the winter months and the Hillclimb friends we have made are as much a part of the great experience as the racing all of which is done on tight budget including camping in our Tent. It is great to see youngsters competing and been given technical advice freely to help them develop one of the great examples for me was a seasoned mini competitor (also an Loton instructor) who told me something that gave me a new PB and then beat him – he was as pleased as I was with the result of taking his advice – you won’t get that in some other sports. MSC is a super championship and winning the class in 2022 was a great honour.
